We recognise that safety is one of the most important parts of our business and justifiably proud of our commitment to safety and of our performance to date. Being active members of both RoSPA and the British Safety Council, our Health and Safety procedures are both pro-active and stringently enforced.
As a further demonstration of our commitment to our ongoing training programs and management of our core skill base, we are actively involved with the ACE initiative (Assuring Competence in Engineering). We believe the process to be an important initiative as it was developed to ensure that the competence of workers in the UK engineering construction industry is validated against National Occupational Standards.
Competence and Safety both on and off site is of paramount importance to our organisation and we have taken steps to put our craftsmen through the assessment process in order to confirm their capabilities. The ACE card proves that an individual can perform their job in a safe and competent manner.
ACE is an industry initiative which is supported by all areas of engineering construction in the UK: Clients, Contractors (ECIA), the National Joint Council (NJCECI), The Engineering Construction Industry Training Board (ECITB) and the Trade Unions.
Regulatory changes and client expectations now require the vast majority of persons involved in the construction, operation, repair and maintenance of process facilities to have proven competence. This has ramifications on the recruitment and selection, training and development of individuals and their subsequent registration and monitoring.
Our aim is to ensure that all our craftsmen have their competence validated against the appropriate National Occupational Standards.
