We have just completed a project for the BP Chirag Oil Project which involved
our fabricating, assembling and undertaking full flow trial testing of 2 off Foam
Skids, 3 off Deluge Systems (4 Way, 5 way and Single Way) together with 40
off Fire Water Hydrant Assemblies.
All of the systems are destined for an offshore environment with sea water duty and considerable welding development was undertaken by us to ensure correct and adequate procedures were in place for the Cunifer and Duplex pipework involved. To that end, in conjunction with Metallurgists from BP, new Weld Procedures were put in place in full compliance with BP’s strict internal requirements and in addition conformed to NORSOK M-601 Edition 5.
In addition to our normal quality checks all materials supplied were confirmed to specification by way of Positive Material Identification Testing (PMI). In addition to our normal fabrication works our Swagelok trained personnel also installed and tested all process and instrument tubing (Monel and 316 Stainless Steel), Instrumentation and associated Operator Interface Panels.
