COMPEX is a certification scheme for electrotechnical crafts person's working in potentially hazardous or explosive atmospheres.
Potentially explosive atmospheres occur in both on and offshore petrochemical plants and refining plants. They are also found in distilleries, paint spraying plants, flourmills, woodworking machine plants, the water industry and Power generation industries. Failure to ensure safe working practices from both installation and maintenance perspectives at these types of facility can result in the ignition of explosive gases or dust clouds leading to injury or even fatalities on a catastrophic level as has been reported in the public domain at very many sites throughout the world involving companies large and small.
Established in 1994, this scheme is recognised nationally as the industry standard for training and assessment of personnel to ensure understanding and provide practical knowledge of installation requirements demanded by the ATEX Directives.
CompEx is a training initiative, jointly developed by the Engineering Equipment and Materials Users’ Association (EEMUA) and JTL, the leading training provider to the building services engineering sector. The scheme is accredited by JTL and supported by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Due to the large amount of electrical and instrumentation installation works undertaken by our organisation within industrial sectors where Hazardous Area’s are very much the norm we have “In-House” COMPEX Trained Electrical Technicians to ensure all of our works comply with latest legislation and best practices.
