After yet another fantastic start to our financial year of trading, we are pleased to announce that we have secured a major contract award for a project in Iraq. The contract will be undertaken for AMEC and its Iraq joint venture partner Fluor and is the first time that we have undertaken pre-fabrication works destined for the region. This is a very exciting opportunity for us as AMEC-Fluor has secured in excess of US$540 million of projects thus far in the region and we hope that this will be the first of many projects that we will be favoured to work upon.
The contract will involve pre-fabrication of pipework that will be transported to Iraq in order to restore water infrastructure, and forms a part of the major round of contracts currently being awarded by the Coalition Provisional Authority, the US-led body in charge of Iraq reconstruction.
Our sincere thanks to all AMEC-Fluor representatives for giving us the opportunity of working with two of the worlds largest Engineering organizations.
Following competition from a number of UK companies we can now announce our success in being awarded the installation contract for the Grain LNG Recondenser Facility in Kent. In order to enable Polish organisations and project managers to gain direct access to appropriate suppliers of expertise, equipment and materials, the OIL & GAS 2004 Export Programme was staged in Warsaw, Poland between the 22nd – 24th of September, 2004. Approximately 200 suitable firms were selected for participation in order to supply the key sectors. This is the first occasion that we have taken part in such an event and it enabled us to make direct contact with a number of potential end users of our products and services. It is our firm belief that the Eastern European Region will enhance trading operations for our UK based operation.
Many thanks to Ola who acted as our translator and host for the duration of the exhibition.
